Undertaking the redesign of your website can be a major investment for any charity or purpose-driven business. It’s often your most visited digital touchpoint, the opportunity for you to set out your vision and mission to the world, and it’s vital to have something that you are proud of and is long lasting, reducing the need for frequent overhauls.
We’re often asked how much more expensive it is to design sustainable websites, and people are often surprised to hear that it’s no more expensive than a typical website build. Here’s how we embed sustainability into our website design processes to help mission-driven organisations produce sustainable websites, to meet all budgets.
Sustainability considerations from the very start
From the very start, we discuss your goals with your team. Sustainability considerations inform all our design decisions, ensuring we use images and media consciously, where possible using illustrations and other vector graphics to add visual interest to limit page size. Including these considerations from the start means that as the project progresses, fewer individual modifications need to be made with sustainability in mind.
Deep understanding of your mission and vision
We like to act as an extension of your team, embedding ourselves into your organisation to really understand what makes you tick, along with any future objectives that will inform your digital strategies. We pride ourselves on delivering websites that serve the needs of your audiences, providing you with a website that is both long lasting and future proofed.
Green Hosting
We host all of our websites with Krystal, who offer 100% Green Hosting. Hosting your website with a sustainable provider can reduce emissions by up to 9%.
Reuseable content blocks
Using reuseable content blocks allows us to save time, whilst also reducing the amount of code and complexity on your website. This helps avoid duplication of content and helps reduce digital waste over time.

I'm a multi-disciplinary designer, with many years of experience designing graphics with impact and seamless user experiences. I started my career designing consumer products, but have since worked on a diverse range of projects from leading brand refresh projects for charities like Sculpt, Jamma and TUSP, sustainable and user-friendly website re-designs for CTRF, Climate Change Coaches and Mokoro to large internal communication projects for WWF and Oxford HR. I'm passionate about the use of design as a tool for positive social change, and with particular interest in projects tackling racial inequality and children’s social care. Recently I was appointed as a Trustee for the new charity Board Racial Diversity UK, working to improve representation within the UK charity sector.
