Igniting paths to economic mobility

Spark the Journey is a non-profit organisation based in Washington, DC, that provides mentorship and a community of support for young adults to chart their own paths to achieving college and career success. They envision a future where every young person can attain economic mobility, regardless of education, background, or race. We worked with Spark the Journey to create a digital and print version of their 2024 Annual Report, having worked with them on the 2022 and 2023 versions. For each year, the goal has been to create a report that captured the impact of their programmes while also being visually captivating, easy to digest, and fun to read.

The team at Spark the Journey had already prepared the main content for the report, so we dived in with a thorough briefing meeting to discuss inspiration and styles. Whilst adhering to the main organisational branding, each iteration over the years has used a distinct colour to differentiate it from the previous year.
To prepare the report digitally, we produced wireframes, focusing on providing an engaging user-experience with bold data visualisation and applying Spark the Journey’s vibrant image library and visual identity to instill personality into the report. We then built it on WordPress, ensuring we created an interactive experience where users could easily navigate through different sections, view clickable graphics, and interact with the data in a fun way. We made sure it was optimised for various devices, tested across browsers, and set up for easy online sharing.


We then adapted the report for print, ensuring the engaging presentation of both data and content was translated across, as well as the personality of the Spark the Journey brand.
The final result was a sleek, interactive digital report and a high-quality printed version that Spark the Journey could proudly share with donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders, perfectly highlighting the years’ achievements.


We had just completed a rebranding of our organization and selected Oxygen to design our annual impact report. From the beginning of the project to the end, they were collaborative, resourceful, and a pleasure to work with. Their team captured the essence of our new brand so well and we all love the end result.
