Oxygen are proud to have signed the Sustainable Web Manifesto in February 2025. Created by the brilliant team at Wholegrain Digital as a collaborative effort with other agencies invested in a sustainable future, this manifesto is a public declaration of a shared commitment to create a sustainable internet. It’s an often little-known fact that the internet consumes large amounts of energy through electricity in data centres, end user devices, and, key to our work, websites. There are ways we can create websites sustainably, whilst ensuring they are still impactful, beautiful and user-friendly. As this is at the heart of what we do, signing the manifesto was an easy choice for us and we have committed to the following:
- 01 – Clean; the services we provide & services we use will be powered by renewable energy
- 02 – Efficient; the products & services we provide will use the least amount of energy and material resources possible
- 03 – Open; The products and services we provide will be accessible, allow for the open exchange of information, and allow users to control their data
- 04 – Honest; The products and services we provide will not mislead or exploit users in their design or content
- 05 – Regenerative; The products and services we provide will support an economy that nourishes people and planet
- 06 – Resilient; The products and services we provide will function in the times and places where people need them most
I'm a multi-disciplinary designer, with many years of experience designing graphics with impact and seamless user experiences. I started my career designing consumer products, but have since worked on a diverse range of projects from leading brand refresh projects for charities like Sculpt, Jamma and TUSP, sustainable and user-friendly website re-designs for CTRF, Climate Change Coaches and Mokoro to large internal communication projects for WWF and Oxford HR. I'm passionate about the use of design as a tool for positive social change, and with particular interest in projects tackling racial inequality and children’s social care. Recently I was appointed as a Trustee for the new charity Board Racial Diversity UK, working to improve representation within the UK charity sector.
